Mike Gibson serves as Director of Business Development and In-House Services in Dudley Land Company’s Houston office. He leads the company’s in-house services across all regions, placing landmen, lease analysts, and division order analysts within client operations and managing data clean-up and system conversion projects. That work also includes ongoing in-house support such as obligation reporting, division order transfers, owner relations, and negotiations with landowners and working interest partners. He also represents Dudley at industry events and on speaker panels. Mike began his career in 2004 as a field landman in East Texas and spent more than a decade in field and land management roles. He first joined the Dudley organization in 2017 with a former affiliate company and returned to Dudley in 2025. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. Mike has long been active in the Houston Association of Professional Landmen (HAPL), where he served as President in 2015 and 2016 and sits on the board. He was named HAPL’s Landman of the Year in 2025 and a TIPRO Texas Best Landman finalist in 2015. He served as Assistant Chairman of the 2026 AAPL Annual Meeting and will chair the 2027 meeting. He is also a member of DAPL, NHAPL, PBLA, ALTA, NALTA, HADOA, and NADOA. Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners, and playing pickleball and disc golf. People are often surprised to learn that he watches no TV beyond news, sports, and documentaries.
